A big thank you to alumni, patrons, retired teachers, friends of alumni, and parents, who responded swiftly to HCJC Alumni's one-week call for donations! All were keen to show their appreciation to frontline staff of Tan Tock Seng Hospital's National Centre for Infectious Disease working hard to help Singapore contain the spread of Covid-19.

To recap the total donations collected as of 13 March 2020:

1. A total of $15,180 of funds was raised, of which $10,180 came from open donations, plus $5,000 from Hwa Chong JC Alumni funds. Of this, $15,000 has been used to purchase Capitaland $10-vouchers for 700 frontline staff at Tan Tock Seng Hospital's National Centre for Infectious Disease, as well as cleaning staff at Sengkang, Khoo Teck Puat and SGH Hospitals. The remaining $180 covered costs of frames and stickers in preparation of appreciation cards and gifts.

2. 2000 Toastbox $5-vouchers (worth $10,000) was donated by alumni Justin. Half has been given to TTSH NCID, and the other half would be given to cleaning staff at Sengkang, Khoo Teck Puat and SGH Hospitals.

HCJC Alumni arranged a delivery of the collected gifts of appreciation to Tan Tock Seng Hospital's representatives on 13 March 2020 (Friday). It was a jolly meeting, with 12 Hwa Chong JC alumni working at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, specially turning up at the main entrance to greet the delivery team comprising Hwa Chong JC Alumni reps, retired biology teacher Mdm Yeo Ee Kuan, and two student reps from HCI 7th Students' National Education Council and their teacher i/c. We were glad to bring some light-hearted moments to our busy alumni at TTSH, and hope the gifts will bring some encouragement and smiles to healthcare workers at Tan Tock Seng Hospital! #hcappreciate #bighearts
